At St. Maria Goretti Catholic School, the Elementary Science program nurtures curiosity, critical thinking, and a deep respect for God’s creation. The hands-on, inquiry-based curriculum invites students to explore the natural world through observation, experimentation, and problem-solving.
Key areas of focus include:
Scientific Inquiry: Learning the scientific method and developing skills in experimentation and analysis.
Life Science: Studying living organisms, ecosystems, and the human body, while connecting faith with respect for all life.
Physical Science: Exploring concepts in physics and chemistry through engaging, real-world experiments.
Earth and Space Science: Investigating the Earth, weather, space, and natural resources, recognizing God’s presence in creation.
Environmental Stewardship: Encouraging students to care for the environment in alignment with Catholic teachings on creation.
Students participate in projects, field trips, and technology-enhanced activities to bring science to life. In 2025, twelve students reached the finals of the Invention Convention, held at St. John Chrysostom Church, where they creatively solved real-world problems—reflecting the program's focus on innovation, responsibility, and service.
